Creative Movement Classes


Creative Movement 1
For ages 3 - 4

Children have fun learning basic stretches and names of body parts while counting, working together, and taking turns.  Students practice controlling their bodies while learning basic ballet and jazz movements.  Playful music, engaging teachers, and an age-appropriate class length make this class a great introduction to movement.  

*Children MUST be potty-trained to join this class.

Creative Movement 2
For ages 4 - 5

In this continuation of Creative Movement 1, students continue to develop their understanding of musical rhythm and practice working together and taking turns.  Students continue their study of basic ballet and jazz movements while adding jumps to their repertoire.  Playful music, engaging teachers, and age-appropriate class length make this class a fun way to enjoy moving!

Ballet Classes


Pre-Ballet
For ages 5-7

Pre-ballet begins with a review of basic skills (musical rhythms, taking turns, and basic anatomy).  Dancers begin to work at the barre, develop ballet technique, and learn stretching skills.  Course elements include the history of ballet and ballet terminology.

Ballet
For ages 7 - 10

The ballet series focuses on elementary exercises with the goal of assimilating the diverse positions of arms, legs, feet, head and trunk of the body, as well as the development of basic habits of coordination and musicality.  As students progress through the four levels, the technique and artistry are developed and frequency of class attendance goes up.

Modern Dance Class

Modern 1
For ages 8 - 11

Students will be introduced to modern dance.  Learning movements from the Graham Technique, students will begin to develop another style of movement to express and explore.

Ballroom Classes


Ballroom 1
For ages 7 - 11

Students will begin to learn ballroom and Latin dance techniques.  Ballroom adds more coordination and different movement patterns as well as working with partners when appropriate.
